Two mums who invented a chewy bib for teething tots have received a top award for entrepreneurship.

Julie Wilson and Amy Livingstone launched their Cheeky Chompers business while they were on maternity leave.

They now sell 550,000 products in 31 countries.

The pair were named Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year at the Entrepreneurial Scotland dinner.

It's the latest in a string of accolades for Julie and Amy -who were classed as delusional when they went on TV’s Dragons’ Den in 2013 to try to push their product.

Julie said; “They loved the product but did think the business projections were delusional, even though we more than tripled them.  Dragon’s Den turned out to be most amazing PR exercise ever because millions watched it through syndication, which helped our profile.

"It feels brilliant that they were wrong but I’d love to see Peter Jones and Duncan Bannatyne now and say to them, ‘Remember when you said we were delusional?”

The women created the company selling “the world’s first chewable dribble bib for teething tots” and it hit the shelves in 2013.

They have now expanded the business and sell a variety of teething aids, blankets and comforters.
