Daily Record - April 2015

Julie Wilson and Amy Livingstone didn't let being turned down for funding on TV's Dragonsā€™ Den stop them pursuing their business dream.

What started as an idea to soothe their teething babies has grown into their successful business Cheeky Chompers, with their chewable bibs now being sold in 29 countries.

Their Neckachews are in high street stores from Mothercare to John Lewis as well as selling in countries as far aļ¬eld as America and Australia.

And after being contacted by parents of children and adults with special needs, the two friends from Edinburgh have now developed a new larger design to help them too.  Julie and Amy met at an antenatal class when they were eight months' pregnant three years ago and became ļ¬rm friends.

Julie and husband Graeme, an estate agent, have daughter Grace, three, and Amy and husband Ally have Dawson, three, and Darcy, 20 months.

When Grace and Dawson began teething and dribbling, the mums discussed what would help.

And a business idea was born for something which combined a bib with a teether.
